3-Round Granny Square

  • Granny Cluster (GC) – 3 dc where indicated
  • Restore Double Crochet (Rdc)
  • Load Double Crochet (Ldc)
  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip Stitch (slst)
  • Load Double Crochet (Ldc) To work the first stitch of round 2, use the slack connecting yarn to make 2 yarn overs, (Yo and pull through 2 loops) twice to complete the dc.
  • Restore Double Crochet (Rdc) To work the first dc of round 3, take first loop off hook, use the slack yarn to make a yarn over, put dropped loop back on hook. (yo and  pull through 2 loops) twice to complete a double crochet.

Round 1: join yarn to hook with a slip knot. Yo 4 times, make a floating ring. (yo, pull through 2 loops) twice (counts as first dc of this round). Secure the slip knot with a stitch marker and drop it and the extra 2 yarn overs off the hook. 2dc in FR. (ch2, GC into FR) 3 times. ch1, sc into first st of round (counts as corner space).

Round 2: Ldc, 2dc in same corner space. (Ch1, GC in next corner space, ch2, GC in same corner space) 3 times. Ch1, GC in next space, ch1, sc in first st of round (counts as corner space). 

Round 3: Rdc, 2dc in same corner space, (ch1, GC in next space, ch1, GC in next space, ch2, GC in same space) 3 times, (ch1, GC in next space) twice, ch2, slst into next dc, fasten off yarn.
