The really thin stuff. But also\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">humble dishcloth cotton <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">soft and squishy merino sock wool<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Miscellaneous. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-4d0b9366 wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-center\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/breakawaycrochet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/6D2D8AA7-7451-47A2-B2B7-117DA0E2A9E4.jpeg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/breakawaycrochet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/6D2D8AA7-7451-47A2-B2B7-117DA0E2A9E4.jpeg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-1415\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" title=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So what to do I with all these treasures?&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Well, I would rather talk about what I <em>don\u2019t<\/em> do with them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What i mean is, I spend a lot of time crocheting granny squares, daisies, yo-yos, you name it &#8211; all kinds of different motifs. And because of a once-in-a-lifetime eureka moment, I never <em>ever ever ever<\/em> cut my precious yarn until i am absolutely 100% satisfied with the finished object that sits in front of me. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And when I do have to frog a piece, I get a kick out of watching as each motif, one by one, disintegrates back into one single length of thread, which I can then reuse for another experiment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s the trick?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I\u2019ve spent the last 15 years developing my Breakaway Crochet method, which is based on a simple technique that provides the ability to crochet one motif, and then jump to the next one in a series, without cutting the yarn between each one. Along the way I\u2019ve also adapted a couple of novel ways to automatically join the motifs as you go. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And since what I do is kinda \u201cout there\u201d, I\u2019m also constantly racking my brain to find ways of explaining things that won\u2019t leave you throwing your hook against the wall in utter confusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From what I can tell, it seems you all are catching on, but I\u2019m hoping to use this blog and website to fill in any gaps that are not provided in the written patterns and video tutorials. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At this writing I\u2019m still getting a huge backlog of ideas formatted and published, but in the meantime you can check out what\u2019s already been floating around, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/breakaway-training-wheels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Introduction to the Breakaway Crochet Method<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/@breakawaycrochet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube tutorials<\/a>, and my dream come true &#8211; the ever-growing <a href=\"https:\/\/breakawaycrochet.com\/?page_id=725\">Motif Library<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And as I\u2019m getting my act together my ultimate daydream is to publish deeper content that will hopefully spark delicious waves of untapped creativity within you.
